While walking my dog in a very rural area (open lands in CO- an area packed with coyotes), I saw a rooster running around. After a comical struggle, I caught him and brought him home. He's been with us for over a week, and he is clearly very well socialized. Steve (as we call him) marches right into the house when he's tired of being outside, nestles on our shoulders, and takes food very gently. We posted information about him with local pet shelters, animal control, and in the "Lost and Found" section of Craigslist. No one has claimed him, however, one woman wrote to me stating he is an Iowa Blue and she would be interested in adopting him and breeding him to her flock. My question is: is he an Iowa Blue? I have NO experience with birds (outside of Quaker Parrots). Your help would be greatly appreciated, and any recommendations for feed would also be valued. Thanks in advance!

The quick answer? No, he is not. Long answer.....he appears to have bantam in his background somewhere. His color is not in accordance to our standard either. Hope that helps!
