I'm wondering if anyone out there has purchased Iowa Blues from The Poultry Hatchery. I was wondering what their stock looked like and what could be expected from their breeding pens. I called them to ask for details, but they didn't disclose anything more than a simple, "our birds are the original Iowa Blue and will look like the original Iowa Blue". If anyone has purchased Iowa Blues from this hatchery, or knows of someone who has, would you be willing to post pictures of what you recieved from them, or pass along any information about their line of Iowa Blue?
They do, but we've had issues with him taking pics off of our IB thread on Backyard Chickens and then claiming that they are pics of his birds and posting them on his website. I've then sent him the pic from our thread which proves they aren't pics of his birds. Anyway, I'm mostly curious to see what he's actually selling as Iowa Blues. Because the pics he's using are pics of our member breeders birds (and mind you, these are pics of birds that our member breeders have culled from their lines!), I don't know what exactly his birds look like. It's more to satisfy my curiosity than anything else......I have a sense that he's drop shipping from Ideal just like Welp, Strombergs, and Privett do. But I'd have to see pics of his birds or chicks out of his birds to know for sure what he's raising and selling as Iowa Blues.
Their current Iowa Blue photo is my photo (taken from the BYC forum, I think, and used without my permission) that is doctored, removing the AR+ and gold leakage from that birchen bird. He's got a whole host of faults and is not what I would choose to represent my birds, LOL. I emailed them asking them to stop using my photo, especially after then had just removed Kari's photo when she requested, and replaced it with another stolen photo (mine). They ignored me. Certainly makes me worry about any birds purchased from them, if that is their ethical position. But, hey, if they wish to represent their birds with that particular specimen, I guess "go for it".
